Back to School

Sorry for the little break in posting darlings, I’ve been busy with my first weeks back to school and attempting to plan a wedding. I’ve jumped back into classes and while the poodle might be a little cranky about me being gone during the day, I’m loving being back in the academic arena. Before I worked in the fashion industry, I was studying international relations and I thought I wanted to be a human rights lawyer. After the first two years of my undergraduate studies, my path totally changed. I was hired as a sales girl at a popular Washington DC based boutique and shortly thereafter, began doing the buying for that location and helping to plan and buy for the upcoming Vegas outpost of the store. After my own The Devil Wears Prada experience (I’m talking working 13 days straight, sleeping with my phone next to my head, and twitching when it rang) I moved back to Philadelphia and had an amazing time working for Nicole Miller Philadelphia and Piazza Sempione. Even though I loved the fashion industry, I started to feel a tug for academia. I was ready to go back. Now, I’m studying history and plan on being a life-long academic. While I’m passionate about fashion, I couldn’t be happier that I spend my days up to my topknot in textbooks. I look forward to the day when I can be the most well-dressed professor in the History Department who has the latest issue of Vogue stashed in her bag, right next to her lecture notes.

    1. Thanks so much…it’s odd to be back in school (def. the same age as one of my professors) but it’s great to be back. I’ll let you in on my boot secret…they’re totally from Bare Feet Shoes on Delaware Ave and were super cheap!

  2. You look gorgeous as always! I would have been much more interested in history class if my teacher dressed liked you 😉
You are very Inspirational, in mind and style xox

  3. Best of luck in school…may it prove as entertaining and enlightening as you have been to us who follow your fashion style! Love the look…school-girl chic never looked better!!

  4. gorgeous per usual, but you still have a few years to catch up to me on my “professional student” career so far…and I NEVER look that good for school…I wish I could be as put together as you! Miss you tons. Love you

      1. haha, well…on my 9th year of college/graduate school so that’s kinda frightening…I wouldn’t really wish this on anyone! But still, I wish you could make me as fab as you!

    1. Thanks so much lovely! I’m busy finishing my degree in history at long last, hope your semester is off to a good start! xx

  5. What’s this? Academia and fashion? The perfect pairing! I know a thing or too about study and you have to be very dedicated, so good luck and I wish you all the best. Now for the fashion – those boots are amazing. They remind me of the boots on the Pucci catwalk a few seasons back. Off to Miss Me I go!

    1. I couldn’t agree more! No sweatpants and hoddies for me when I’m off to class. I might be the most over dressed student but at least I’m happy! You’re so right about the boots…totally remind me of those Pucci boots as well now that you mentioned it. I’ll let you in on a fun secret…they were dirt cheep, like no more then $25 cheep. Try , it might take a little hunting around but I always find great deals and some good styles. The companies are a little random but for the price point it’s totally worth it.
