Here Come the Bridesmaids

I’m at the age in life when many of my friends are starting to get married. I had the honour of being in one of my best friends’ weddings a few years ago and I find myself attending more and more weddings with each passing year. As more wedding photos pop up on my Facebook feed, I have to say that most bridesmaids dresses are….well, not so hot at all. You have the standard long gown with coordinating sash that is just dull at best, the baby-doll knee length that makes even the skinniest girl look slightly preggers and then there are the all out horrific “other” dresses. To my wonderful friend who picked out dresses that worked on her entire bridal party, my pasty self included, kudos. Seriously, you might have found the tasteful holy grail of bridesmaids dresses that managed to make a group of girls who ranged in skin and body type look fresh and pretty damn cute if I do say so myself.

As I see more and more of those above mentioned hideous and dull bridesmaids dresses, my desire to reach out and re-style those cookie cutter gowns grows. Janelle from Orangia has done just that with her new collection, Tangelo. My own love for all things Orangia is no secret and once again Janelle has produced a collection that is both stunning and eco-friendly. Just like in the rest of the fashion industry, the bridal industry is going green. Tangelo manages to be green all the while looking chic and classic. This gorgeous collection is the cure for the common and blech bridesmaids dress that the bridal industry has been longing for. Each piece is made with only the finest materials and can be customized. Because of Janelle’s varied design experience, the dresses are not only lovely to look at but are also comfortable to wear. Anyone who has ever done bridesmaid duty can tell you that this is a major necessity. When spending a long day in heels and spanx, the last thing you want is a uncomfortable and un-attractive dress that will be immortalized in more photographs then you can imagine.
Here are a few of my favorite looks from Tangelo, they cover a wide range of styles that work on all body types and would look gorgeous for all different styles of wedding. From beach to boho, classic to contemporary, these looks work for any type of wedding.
