Savage Beauty at the Met

Yesterday was spent taking a Mother/Daughter trip to NYC for the day to see the Alexander McQueen “Savage Beauty” exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. To say that the exhibit was amazing is the understatement of the year, it was absolutely breathtaking. Encompassing decades of his work, the exhibit included pieces starting with his 1992 MA Graduation collection Jack the Ripper Stalks His Victims and ended with his partially completed Autumn/Winter 2010-2011 collection. It goes without saying that McQueen was a genius. He could turn the seemingly grotesque into a thing of beauty, one need only reference his 1998 “Spine” corset from the 1998 Spring/Summer Untitled collection. Image via […]
