Runway Report: CHANEL 2016/2017 Cruise Collection Accessories
As a follow up to my love letter to the CHANEL 2016/2017 Cruise Collection, I felt it was absolutely necessary to dedicate a post solely to the amazing accessories that were shown with this impeccable ready-to-wear collection. Continuing the palette of dreamy pastels, bold primary colors, and sultry shades of black, accessories were shown in an array of tones that were riotously joyful yet still elegant and polished. This beautiful marriage of whimsy and polish, seemingly a hallmark of the house of CHANEL, beautifully translated throughout this entire collection, accessories included.
From Panama hats and sumptuous jewelry to the most refined little woven flip-flops and caged sandals, there is a playfulness to the pieces that cannot help but bring a smile to one’s face. As for the bags, always a highlight of the collections Monsieur Lagerfeld produces each season, they are each sublime perfection. Done in the classic 2.55 flap and now de rigueur Boy style, there was also a slouchy bundle bag and a reticule that was the perfect nod to a Cuban cigar box that were standouts amongst so many beautiful pieces.
