Runway Report: Mackage FW14
First launched in 1999 by design duo Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan, Mackage has become one of the premiere outerwear brands. With a devoted celebrity following, the line is also a favorite of the fashion crowd and their show has become one of the premier events at World MasterCard Fashion Week. With their standout outerwear reaching cult status, the duo has recently ventured into accessories with some seriously stunning bags and clutches.
Besides being beautifully designed with luxe little touches, I love that Mackage is a proudly Canadian brand as they continue to be a player the global fashion scene. With a flagship shop in New York’s tony Soho neighborhood and availability at leading retailers worldwide, the brand still maintains a head office here in Montreal.
This past week I had the pleasure of popping into their showroom to see the F/W collection in person. After totally falling for the collection after attending their show during World MasterCard Fashion Week, I was truly excited to see it up close. With a chic color palette of black with pops of navy, camel, olive green, tartan, and even a gorgeous shocking fuchsia, the collection is totally lust worthy. While their signature down coats are always the perfect option for winter, the real standouts of this season are the luxurious leather and wool options. From an updated quilted bomber jacket to a leather sleeved trench and achingly cool moto jackets, Elfassy and Dahan have executed yet another stellar collection.
