Sweet Sixteen

November 16, 2011

Last weekend, Darling Fiance and I went to his little cousin’s Sweet Sixteen. There were yummy cupcakes, oodles of pink all over the place, and lots of great memories of my own Sweet Sixteen. Before the era of My Super Sweet Sixteen and parties chock full of over the top gifts and top 40 performers, my parents threw me a wonderful party at an adorable little restaurant and guess who my date was…One Darling Fiance. At the time he was the cute boy my friend had introduced me to who had somehow succeeded in convincing his father to drive him to Philly for my party. It’s crazy to think that over eleven years later he’s now Darling Fiance. This great Marc Jacobs dress is another gem that was hidden in the back of my closet, tags and all. With the amazing back that this dress has, I’m not sure why it was lurking back there. Pardon the cell phone pictures darlings, I really need to get a good camera that can fit in a purse. Any recommendations?

Dress: Marc Jacobs

Clutch: Chanel

Heels: Miss Me!

I enjoy long walks through Neiman Marcus, red soled shoes, skinny black pants, oversized cocktail rings, obnoxious bows, nipped waists and full skirts.

Instagram post 2194767497894817354_187474987 It’s hard to choose a favorite piece from my wardrobe but this dress is pretty special. It’s one of the few pieces I’ve been able to track down of my great aunt’s work. Her eponymous line Hannah Troy was popular during the mid twentieth century. Known for bringing many of the great Italian designers State side during that time, she also created her own pieces as well and is credited with creating the petite size. #fashionhistory #vintagestyle #vintageclothing #vintagefashion #vintagedress
