Turban

December 7, 2011

So the turban is having a moment and I have to say I’m enjoying it. It’s slowly but surely seeping back into the fashion world, popping up on various runways and in multiple street style photos. Creating a turban out of a scarf is pretty easy. Much like my hair care routine, if I can do it, then undoubtedly you can as well. A quick Google search of “how to tie a turban with a scarf” nets you oodles of how-to’s and Youtube videos with step by step instructions. This pink Hermes scarf has some very fond memories attached to it. Since high school my parents had promised a family trip to Paris but because of various commitments we were never able to take it until a few years ago. By that point, I had already visited with both friends and with my late grandmother. Nonetheless, it was still so special to see a city that I had come to love so much with my parents. Needless to say, the killer shopping played a not so small role in what was already an amazing trip. I took my parents to one of my favorite little restaurants and my dad took my mum and I to Hermes where he bought us each two scarves to remember the trip.

Oh, and p.s….Darling Fiance, that’s right I’m talking to you…see these adorable pants? I’ve had them since high school. That’s right, high school. I told you I wear all the “stuff” I’ve been holding onto.

Scarf: Hermes

Top: Zara

Pants: Moschino

Canada, eh

I enjoy long walks through Neiman Marcus, red soled shoes, skinny black pants, oversized cocktail rings, obnoxious bows, nipped waists and full skirts.

Instagram post 2194767497894817354_187474987 It’s hard to choose a favorite piece from my wardrobe but this dress is pretty special. It’s one of the few pieces I’ve been able to track down of my great aunt’s work. Her eponymous line Hannah Troy was popular during the mid twentieth century. Known for bringing many of the great Italian designers State side during that time, she also created her own pieces as well and is credited with creating the petite size. #fashionhistory #vintagestyle #vintageclothing #vintagefashion #vintagedress
